Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. First Edition (first printing). 4to. 163pp. Green cloth lettered in gold at the spine. With seventy-five black and white photographs, mostly full-page, printed to the rectos, with captions and a linking commentary printed to the adjacent versos. Contemporary (1944) former owner gift inscription inked to the front pastedown (and partially obscured by the wrapper flap). A hint of toning to the paperstock, and a trace of blemishing to very occasional margins. Very good indeed in non-price-clipped double-spread photographic dust wrapper, with an inch of loss from the base of the rear panel, and half a dozen small slivers of loss from the spine panel ends and the upper edge. Splendid photographs of the Home Front during the Second World War, including many shots of airmen, soldiers, sailors and mechanics, plus also civilians and images of town and countryside. A superb production, which exhibits no indication of the quality paper rationing which so often blemishes English books of this period.
