Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Tall 8vo, i-xii, 64 hand - coloured plates by the author accompanied by a page of text by Mrs E M Cotton. Original maroon cloth, some minor rubbing on the bottom edge, circular stamp of Burney Library on the front free end paper and rear end paper but no other markings. Light spotting to the title page, inscription dated 1992 on the front free end paper, the plates and contents are very clean. Mrs Vallentin was a resident in the Falkland Islands and received lessons in drawing plants from Miss Mathilda Smith of The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew during some time spent in England.
