Wear to extremities with the corners rubbed through, rubbing of the paper along the edges of the boards, spine slightly sunned, previous owner's name on front pastedown, else very good to near fine with no internal markings. No dust jacket. Born in London, John Womack Vandercook [1902-1963] moved to the U.S. with his parents when he was about six months of age. He was a radio commentator (ABC) and an author. Vandercook worked in the early 1920s for newspapers in Columbus, Ohio; Washington and Baltimore. He also was assistant editor for McFadden Publications and feature editor of The New York Graphic. In 1923, Vandercook set out on the first of a series of trips that were to last for 12 years and produce material for many of his books. FORTY STAY In was one of his earlier works of fiction.
