A history of the Holland Marsh. The story of the attempts to, and eventual success in, draining the Holland Marsh and converting the land to agriculture. I know the farmers were successful because I've seen the trucks absolutely weighed down with carrots. There is a considerable amount of text dedicated to the damage done by Hurricane Hazel in 1954. The stories of some families are interwoven with the large history. A very good copy with edge wear and some sunning on the jacket. The boards have a couple of small indents in the bottom corner.
