Covers are worn with exposed portions of board along the edges and corners. Corners as well as the crown and foot of the spine are bumped. Binding remains tight and secure. Pages are overall crisp and clean, other than annotations from the previous owner. Images are printed in full color and B&W. 429 pages. Copyright dated 1984. This volume comes from the Lincoln Brower collection. We have a wonderful bookcase or two of books from the Brower's collection listed here. Everything you know about Monarch Butterflies, you know because of Brower's work, both scientific and outreach. He was a great teacher, and important researcher, a torch-bearing conservationist, and a leading light in lepidoptery. We are extremely excited to offer his books. "Brower lab copy" is written on the FFEP along with a note that reads "P. 315 larval memory?". Brower has made annotations throughout, particularly in the sections on mimicry, migration, and seasonal polyphenism/larval memory - as noted on the FFEP.
