An exquisite book detailing the restoration (from the ground up) of La Reggia Venaria Reale, the Royal Palace near Turin. The baroque palace was built by the Savoy dynasty and had fallen into disrepair after being used as a barracks. The 8-year restoration process is chronicled here, which included nearly 900,000 square feet of stucco and painting and 200 acres of gardens. A gem comes back to life before your eyes in this wonderfully-written and photographed book. VG+ but with museum ex-lib. pocket inside back cover and bookplate/stamp inside front cover.
