Red cloth; slight mottling and soiling to boards; two streaks of slender black staining to rear board; spine's gilt lettering quite somewhat discernable; slight dulling/flaking to front board's otherwise still reasonably bright gilt stamping. Past owner's ink signature at top of front free endpaper; summary paper slip laid-in at front endpapers; Mississippi Art Association paper slip laid-in at title page noting production flaws in first issue necessitating replacement; impression of writing onto title leaf; some scattered light soiling to interior pages. B/w plate between pages 76-77 slightly pulled with worn fore-edge; several quires slightly pulled with binding reinforced by glue application between spine's exterior cloth and inner backstrip. With Dedication, Preface, Introduction, and thirteen b/w plates on unpaged leaves including frontispiece.
