Contains 'The First Distiller,' and 'Inequality' by Leo Tolstoy; 'A Girl of the World/Peace' a tale translated from the Swedish of Sel…ma Lagerlof; 'Zorakh and Bulanka' and 'The Honk (Whistle)' by D. Vendov; 'The Magnanimous Goliath' and 'the Death of Sharik,' by Yu. Bezrodny; 'In Captivity' and 'Neighbors,' two stories by I. Nazhivin; 'The Gypsies' by A.S. Pushkin; and 'Brother on Brother,' with author not given. The Pushkin title, while pagination is continuous (64 pp.), bears two different fonts and sizes between the first and last half of the work. The last piece ends on page 32 and does not appear complete. Provenance: many stamps throughout indicate this was from the Socialist Party of Chelsea, as well as the Russian Labor Group, also of Chelsea (Massachusetts). FAIR/GOOD condition. Spine label and stamping present. Boards rather grubby, with moderate soiling and some staining. Spine darkened. Minor scuffing and edgewear. Text block cracked in one location with the whole block being shaken. Paper toned, with scattered soiling and staining throughout.
