[Religion] An original leaf from "La Humanita Del Figlivolo Di Dio" by Theofilo Folengo, printed in Venice by Matteo Bosello in 1567. Teofilo Folengo was an Italian popularizer of verse written in macaronics (q.v.), a synthetic combination of Italian and Latin. Poetic style in Italics, It includes a very nice religious woodcut image of what seems to be an illustration from The Prodigal Son . About 4' x 5.75". Folengo wrote "L'Umanità del Figliuolo di Dio" in rhymed octaves. Beautiful and in excellent condition.
