Robert Veno was a French magician. As a teenager he was interested in magic and later presented an illusion number under the pseudonym of Serge Robert. Thereafter he created a number of Japanese magic tricks under the pseudonym of Haru-Kawa. In 1941 he presented a different number under his surname 'Veno: the man who works miracles'. Tours in the provinces and abroad opened the doors to the great Parisian establishments. An excellent painter and draughtsman, he wrote and illustrated numerous books. He also edited the French magazine Le Magicien for several years.
