    Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Oversized softcover. Light tan paper covers with black lettering. Covers are toned with light wear to edges, rubbing at crown and foot of spine. Binding is tight and secure; inside spine gutters are reinforced. Pages are clean and crisp with light toning to edges and a minor crease in top outer corner. Printed in B&W. 4 illustrations throughout and 22 fold-out maps in the rear. 192 pages. Title page dated 1941. Previous owner's name written in top corner on first page. A very nice copy. This volume comes from the Castles and Forts collection of Chris Sterling, a longtime professor at George Washington University. Sterling was an avid book collector with a wide-range of interests; we are proud to house this collection, part of the extensive library which is his legacy.
