Hinges are heavily cracked with exposed netting. Moderate crinkling and cracking to paper at gutter. Clean pages and illustrations with light tanning and foxing to text block edges. Binding is loose throughout with minor thumb-marking. Pencil markings to front free endpaper. Heavier foxing to free endpapers and pastedowns. Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Slight crushing and fraying to spine ends and corners. Moderate splits to spine. Moderate foxing to boards. Visible wear marks to boards. . Moderate sunning to spine.

Slight crushing to spine ends. Splits to spine ends causing cloth to be frayed. Unclipped jacket has heavy edgewear with areas of loss, heavy tears, chips, and creasing. Light tanning to spine and edges. Wear marks overall.

Very slight wear and two small tears to edges of wrapper which has been internally reinforced with special non adhesive archive tape and is now in a clear protective sleeve. There is some fading to bottom edge of front and rear boards caused by damp which has also caused some cockling to front and rear prelims but has had little effect on the text.
