Condition: Very Good. Original edition. 16 cm, 124 pages, and several full-page illustrations with tissue guards. In green cloth stamped in black with deco/Empire design, surmounted by a mounted color vignette of children playing a game of blind man's buff, and the legend "Archie Vernon's Library" in gilt reverse. Titled in gilt on spine. Vertical scratch on upper board; ownership inscription in pencil on front pastedown, and ink stamp on flyleaf, else very, very good, especially for an artifact of juvenile literature (which are usually found in abused condition). Short tales for the edification of young American readers of the 1890s.
