Hardcover. 19cm, 354p., green pebbled cloth, silver stamped decorations and titles, a very good to fine copy. (Lt) A novel of Ottawa published the year before the Graphic Press closed. It is the general impression that this book was written by May Holland Cox.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. A novel of the rich and powerful in Ottawa in the mid twentieth century, written by Amy Cox under the pseudonym Veros Carleton. It was published by Graphic Publishers of Ottawa which was founded in 1925 with the intention to produce popular Canadian novels which were written and published entirely in Canada. The publisher only lasted for seven years, and The House of Temptation was published towards the end of this period. This copy is in Good condition, and is missing its dust jacket. There is wear to the green fabric covering the boards and the edges of the spine, and there is something that appears to be a light paint stain on the front cover. There is also some bumping to the corners. There is also an inscription from a previous own on the front endpaper.
