The series begins with Leonardo da Vinci, captured by the expert Marco Versiero.At the core the analysis is the specific soul, among the thousands of Leonardo's, that Marco Versiero wants to underline: his mirror-soul; namely, Leonardo's eye between Human and Nature. Il volume intende offrire un saggio comparativo tra la personalità di Leonardo da Vinci e quelle di due suoi celebri contemporanei, sulla base anche di una verosimile ricostruzione delle rispettive occasioni di incontro. La convocazione dell'artista a Firenze su istanza di Girolamo Savonarola, nell'estate del 1495, per prendere parte a una commissione composta da altri prestigiosi architetti, chiamata a pronunciarsi sulla edificazione della Sala del Maggior Consiglio in Palazzo Vecchio, sembra aver determinato in Leonardo una prolifica esercitazione sul genere letterario della "profezia" e sulla figurazione "apocalittica" di diluvi e altre catastrofi naturali. Il successivo interscambio intellettuale con Niccolò Machiavelli, conosciuto già al seguito del Valentino in Romagna (1502) e ritrovato a Firenze all'avvento della Repubblica capeggiata dal Gonfaloniere Soderini (1503-04), si misura su tematiche in parte sovrapponibili.
