I saggi iniziali informano a livello teorico e generale sul fenomeno della letteratura ludica in Spagna, e il relativo dibattito tra sport e cultura nella prima avanguardia, poi il libro affronta da vicino un gruppo di figure prestigiose della Generazione del 27: Gerardo Diego, Concha Ménendez Cuesta (poetessa e nuotatrice), Juan Larrea, Emilo Prados, José María Hinojosa, García Lorca, riservando anche attenzione alla particolare scrittura di Pablo Picasso, punto di riferimento per molti giovani artisti; mentre al cinema sonoro e alla sua importanza nella produzione letteraria, vengono dedicati ampi studi che esauriranno l'interessante pro cesso di scambio e interrelazione avvenuto fra i due generi artistici nel momento di maggiore fermento delle nuove istanze d'avanguardia in Spagna. Per ultimo e a conclusione del discorso avanguardista, viene lo studio dei 34 Carteles literarios, ispirati alla neonata grafica pubblicitaria (di cui vengono riprodotti otto manifesti) dello scrittore Ernesto Giménez Caballero, uno degli spiriti più innovatori, assieme a Ramón Gómez de la Serna, del linguaggio formale della Spagna moderna.
