August 1850 in Trondhjem, gestorben am 1. Juli 1907 in Modum) war ein norwegischer Philosoph. Vold wurde 1868 Student und cand. theol. 1873. 1873-75 hielt er sich in Kristiania auf, wo er Philosophie lehrte. 1876-81 war er Leiter einer Kreisschule im Kreis Smaalenenes. In den Sommern 1878 und 1883 studierte er Philosophie in Deutschland und erhielt 1881 die goldene Kronprinzenmedaille für die Preisarbeit "Über den Begriff der Teleologie". 1888 promovierte er mit einer Arbeit über "Spinozas Erkenntnistheorie". 1889 wurde Vold Dozent und 1890 Professor für Philosophie an der Universität von Kristiania. Viele Jahre lang führte er Experimente zu den Gesetzen des Traumlebens durch und veröffentlichte mehrere Artikel zu diesem Thema. Er schrieb auch viele kleinere Artikel, zum Beispiel über Spiritismus. Seine Dissertation "Ideal-realistisches Weltbild" wurde 1977 in der Reihe "Norwegische Philosophie im 19.
