Impresa dello stampatore al titolo, figure geometriche n.t., testatine ed iniziali vegetali. Prima ed unica edizione di trattato poco noto e molto raro, in cui il Voss pubblica la legge di Snell relativa alla proprietà della luce di passare da un mezzo all'altro con angolo di rifrazione costante, formulata nel 1621 ma rimasta sino ad allora inedita e per questo spesso attribuita a Cartesio. Merito del Voss fu anche quello di aver formulato una nuova teoria dei colori legata al tenore dello zolfo. Willebrord Snell (1581/91-1626) fu il primo ad osservare che il rapporto di rifrazione è costante. Snell non pubblicò mai la propria legge, che circolò in forma di manoscritto, fino a che proprio Isaac Voss la rese pubblica nel 1662, permettendo così a Fermat di spiegarla attraverso il principio del minimo percorso e introducendo il concetto di cammino ottico. Esemplare stupendo, genuino e di illustre provenienza: al titolo ex libris manoscritto "Biblioteca S. Pantaleonis" e nota di possesso "Alphonsi Borellij", (Napoli, 28 gennaio 1608 ? Roma, 31 dicembre 1679) celebre matematico, fisiologo, filosofo e scienziato italiano. L'opera più conosciuta del Borelli è il trattato, "De motu animalium" (Roma - 1680), uscito postumo, con il quale cercò di spiegare il movimento del corpo animale basato su principi meccanici e per il quale si guadagnò il titolo di padre della biomeccanica, (minime fioriture su pochi fogli, ultime carte con uniforme leggera brunitura).
