The text of the diary is dated "190." and bears the style of that era. No place of publication specified, nor price: the paper quality -- thin yet strong, with a smooth finish -- suggests Asia. Adult literature - the diary of a French maiden by the name of Juliette, an account of a French mountain village where Juliette grew up as the daughter of a pastor until their death when she was 18, her move to the castle of the Grand Duke of Russia as a governess to the two young princes, depiction of life among the Russian aristocracy shortly before the fall of the Romanov dynasty and her forced relations with the Grand Duke, a man she compares to Rasputin, fleeing Russia to France, portrayal of Paris in the Gay Nineties and her erotic life as a prostitute.
