Single sheet measuring 9 1/8 by 6 7/8 inches printed on recto only, text in six stanzas, within decorative border. First stanza begins, "There is a fine ship on th…e ocean / All lined with silver and gold; / Its name is Abraham Lincoln/ And I'm sure that my Willie's on board. Folded twice (once vertically, and once horizontally), with few short edge tears and moderate, early foxing; unprinted verso was carefully backed at edges of broadside, at an early date, with matching paper; a good, sound copy of a fragile publication. The publisher, Mrs. Pauline Lieder, was born in 1857. *OCLC* records approximately thirty different titles published by Lieder (mostly broadsides, sheet music and songsheets, between 1879-1880). The Irish composer of this song, J. A. Wade, was born in Dublin. Uncommon. *OCLC* locates only a single holding.
