Kabinettkarten. Tadellos erhalten. Wahlmann kam durch ihre Eltern, die einer Wandertheatertruppe angehörten, bereits als Kind zur Bühne. Ihre künstlerische Ausbildung erhielt sie durch Emil Devrient. Ihr erstes "richtiges" Engagement erhielt sie in Linz, danach spielte sie in Graz, Amsterdam und am Thalia-Theater Hamburg. 1866 kam sie ans Stuttgarter Hoftheater, wo sie bald zu den glänzendsten Stars zählte. Sie endete aber später durch ein Nervenleiden im Irrsinn, nachdem sie vorher vergeblich versucht hatte sich im Neckar zu ertränken. In zweiter Ehe war sie mit ihrem ebenfalls in Stuttgart spielenden Kollegen Hermann Willführ (biographische Daten siehe mein diesbezügliches Angebot) verheiratet, nach einer Scheidung dann in dritter Ehe seit 1892 mit dem 22 Jahre jüngeren Kollegen Ernst Benzinger. Nach diversen Quellen zu urteilen war sie es wohl auch, die dem jungen Robert Walser während seiner Stuttgarter Zeit den Traum von einer Schauspielerkarriere ausredete und jedes schauspielerische Talent absprach.
