Add to basketPublisher's original finely woven burgundy cloth over thin limp card wrap covers, blocked and lettered in gilt. 8vo. 8½'' x 5½''. Contains 39 subjects for examination in rough working drawing. In each case a scale drawing is required to be submitted with a question paper to be completed and signed. Each question has, on the facing page, a lithographed fold-out sheet of a completed drawing of marine steam-engine components by T. Wake as a pattern to be copied. Construction lines and measurements are shown. The exercise then requires calculations to be made from the drawing and written in. The errata sheet includes the information that Chief Engineers have 6 hours to complete the work to B.O.T. standard. Title page signed 'Thomas H. Scott, S/S Cotswold Range, 3rd Engineer'. The front end paper bears his address in Jarrow-on-Tyne. Greatly used and some sheets of drawings not well folded, else a good copy in well thumbed and lived-with condition. Scarce.
