This is a collection of 16 articles or accounts from doctors, lawyers, social critics, journalists, & novelists that attempt to portray addict and their worlds; the psychology & treatment of addiction; & social, legal, & political responses. In 191 pages. A Fawcett Premier paperback original (PBO) first published in 1963, this is the Fifth printing from June 1969, with degenerate-looking cover art by an unattributed artist. Condition is Good- (minus): heavy rubbing to extremities with slight splitting along spine. Corners heavily rubbed &/or creased. Pages quite clean, with the occasional tiny check mark or notation. minor underlines in one chapter, former owner's information inside front cover. Mild dampstain to lower page edges, heavy rubbing/paper loss to lower outer corner of back cover.
