"Dieser hatte für die Herstellung aus Privatquellen geschöpft, welche ihm namentlich durch den Beistand sächsischer Officiere erschlossen waren; seine Arbeit hatte handschriftlich dem Könige vorgelegen, von welchem er brieflich gnädige Anerkennung erfuhr. Daß sie auch vom Feinde günstig beurtheilt wurde, zeigt eine Schrift, welche ebenfalls ohne Nennung seines Namens unter dem Titel 'Kleine Berichtigungen über den Versuch einer militärischen Geschichte des Bayerschen Erbfolgekrieges' (Frankfurt und Leipzig, Dresden 1784) ein österreichischer Officier (Prinz Waldeck) veröffentlichte" (ADB). - Vorsatz mit den Statuten der Bibliothek der königl.
