First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good-. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. With B&W frontispiece portrait of the author by David Silvette (illustrator). First printing (NAP). Cloth-covered boards, in dustjacket. Scarce. "The Life Story of Thomas Calhoun Walker, 'Lawyer Walker of Gloucester.'" A few marks to the cloth, which is a litle worn at the spine-ends, and irregularly faded at the crown of the spine. Where the binder attached the first (half-title) page to the endpaper, the page has pulled away from the rest of the signature, exposing the mesh a little, but the binding is still firm, and the hinges are strong (no tears to the endpapers). Name in light pencil on front free endpaper, else no marks. The dustjacket has significant wear and shelf-soil, with tears, chips and creasing to the crown of the spine, and chipping with a 2" tear at the foot of the spine. The front flap appears to have been clipped, but the price ($4.50) is still present.
