Bumping/curling at fore-edge corners; interior pages are otherwise clean. Hate literature - anti-integration diatribe by the managing editor of the Farmville Herald newspaper. Page 2 features a short biography of the author by newspaper publisher J. Barrye Wall with a further endorsement of the Price Edward County's actions in response to the "legal proceedings of the NAACP leading to the Black Monday Decision of the U.S. Supreme Court and the subsequent pressure of the lower federal courts." Primary text all presumably by John C. Steck with Foreword on pages 3-4, essay "The County's Story" on pages 5-17, and essay "The Tortuous Legal Maze" on pages 18-26. Roy R. Pearson contributes essay "Prince Edward School Foundation on pages 27-31. Scarce hate literature example demonstrating the entrenched attitudes opposing school desegregation in the south still years after the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka decision. OCLC records copies at eleven member institutions of which ten are in Virginia (the escapee being held by UNC-Chapel Hill).
