First edition hardcover (of the second volume of an originally two volume set), bound in dark-blue cloth, with gilt decoration (Oxford colophon) on front cover, and gilt lettering on spine, is in VG condition, having light surface wear to covers; small white stain at top of front cover; corners lightly bumped and worn; former owner's bookplate on first fixed endpaper; faint acid-shadows in both endpaper sections (due to long-ago placement of some clippings, etc.); originally published with uncut pages, and some pages appear to be still uncut; deckled edges. There is one illustration: a two-page spread of Blake's "Laocoon." Literary criticism. Poetry. British. DB.

Cloth. Condition: Good to Very Good. Volume I: 649 pp. Volume II: 361 pp. (1,010 pp.) Tightly bound. (1) Light bump to top right front corner of volume II. (2) NOTE: There are both cut and uncut pages in each volume. (3) There are approximately 15 pages that have a very small black spot on the page edge. It appears to be ink from the time of the book's production.(4) The gilt type face on the dark blue oxford cloth spines is bold and bright. (5) NOTE: This set published 1957 . The original printing was 1926. (6) In volume II I noticed just a few black check marks in the page margins that are unobtrusive.
