Malcolm Wallop (February 27, 1933 - September 14, 2011) was an American rancher and politician who served as a United States Senator from Wyoming from 1977 to 1995. In 1976, Wallop successfully unseated three-term Democratic U.S. Senator Gale W. McGee. During his Senate tenure, Wallop supported strong national security and other elements of Reagan conservatism. While in the Senate, Wallop served on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. In his second term, Wallop supported the 1983 Strategic Defense Initiative,[2] a proposed missile defense system intended to protect the United States from attack from nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles and submarine-launched ballistic missiles. He was a member of the Helsinki Commission and traveled extensively in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union as an arms control negotiator. Angelo Maria Codevilla (May 25, 1943 - September 20, 2021) served as a U.S. Navy officer, a foreign service officer, and professional staff member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. His books and articles range from politics to the thoughts of Machiavelli and Montesquieu to arms control, war, the technology of ballistic missile defenses, and a broad range of international topics. . This provocative and plain-spoken critique of arms control, written by two of the most knowledgeable and incisive foreign policy experts, Senator Malcolm Wallop and Angelo Codevilla, shows how twenty-five years of negotiations and agreements with the Soviet Union have promised a safer world but produced precisely the reverse. The author show that the military forces the Soviet Union has built==by a few violations, much evasion, but mostly within arms control treaties, if loosely interpreted--have become precisely the ones we sought to avoid by entering into the arms control process in the first place. According to the authors, arms control represents a delusion, born of fear, nurtured by a generous sprinkling of Utopian ideology, and sustained by an apparently inexpensive demagoguery and arrogance.

94 leaves of black mounting paper, with clear acetate 3-hole sleeves. Laid-in a TLs, on U. S. Senate letterhead. Approximately 300 color photographs, ranging in size from 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" to 9-1/2". Album: 11-3/8" x 11-1/4" x 2-1/2" Here offered a presentation photograph album documenting the 1991 Paris Air Show, as assembled by the USAF and presented by Senator Wallop [Wyoming] to Mr. & Mrs. Eugene Quinn, who accompanied the Senator to the show. The photographs document, in chronological sequence, the delegation's entire trip from Washington to Paris and back. The images capture the diverse and many flavors of this world-wide event, established in 1909, and ever since 1949, held biennially. In 1991, the US hosted a Department of Defense display of the Stealth bomber and other Gulf War armaments. While the images aren't captioned, the album nevertheless still imparts the grandeur of the event, with images of exhibits, views from airborne aircraft, members of the delegation, scenes of Paris itself, as well as surrounding French countryside, social events held for the delegations, etc., etc. An uncommon primary visual source document for the US participation in this 1991 event. General wear & sunning to the album, snag to front cover vinyl, overall Very Good. Photographs generally clear & sharp, VG+. TLs with offset, and general wear, age-toning & soiling, About VG. 3 ring blue vinyl notebook, with large title label to front cover.
