Soft cover. Condition: VG. 16pp extract, printed in double columns, illustrated with 14 characteristic Harper's engravings, salvaged from a damaged issue of Harper's New Monthly Magazine, Volume XXII, No. 128, January, 1861. From the opening paragraph, "The title that I have given to this chapter of woe is a metaphorical one. I was not, like Columbus, exactly wrecked upon the coast of Jamaica. I was simply banished there by an Esculapian ukase, and forbidden, under penalty of death, to leave the island for six months." Published anonymously here, the authorship was later attributed to Sewall. This account does not appear to have been published elsewhere. Very scarce. Housed in protective mylar report cover.
