Includes Walter Jerrold's introduction, black and white illustrations by Charles Robinson on nearly every page, beautiful, full-color frontispiece, roughly 30 other colored plates throughout text, and about 150 different fables. Light foxing to pages, primarily around edges. Most noticeable on first and last few pages, almost none at center of book. Front free endpaper features neat inscription, marking it as a gift from an aunt to a niece and dated 1936. Pages otherwise clean. Seems to be missing the original title page, so I can't tell for certain the year of publication. The first page is an engraved portrait of Mr. Foote, followed by the Introduction. Aside from the missing title page in fine, unmarked condition.
