He was rich but later he became a poor man and Reta helped him with money. She became tired of him and fell in love with a spanish singer. Hesse killed her and commited suicide. It happened in 1906.

Postkartenformate (postalisch nicht verwendet). Sehr gut erhalten. Die noch junge Sängerin sang an der Komischen Oper Berlin und wurde mit nur 22 Jahren das Opfer einer Liebestragödie. Ein vormals reicher, dann verarmter Liebhaber, ein gewisser Karl Hesse, brachte sie um, als sie sich von ihm abwandte und in einen spanischen Sänger verliebte. Er lauerte ihr vor ihrer Wohnung auf und erschoss zuerst sie, dann sich selbst. Der Nebenbuhler, der spanische Tenor Juan Raventos, den er auch umbringen wollte, überlebte nur, weil er zufällig gerade im Krankenhaus lag. Als Figur der Mignon aus Goethes "Wilhelm Meister" fand das Portrait Wallters auf zahllosen Postkarten um 1900 weite Verbreitung. Zu ihrer Biographie sind die Quellen eher spärlich. Sprache: de.
