Stitched, later cloth case. Condition: Good, unless otherwise noted. 20x13cm, Various paginations of folded leaves. 5 juan plus supplement (fulu). // A prime resource for Chinese scholars trying to identify the characters on ancient Chinese bronze objects. No easy task! A modern character is given in a small black circle followed by ancient versions, many nearly pictographic in nature. Thousands of ancient character forms throughout the three volumes. Reduced-format lithographic version of an 1876 edition based on the woodblock-printed 1716 first edition. A bit of worming to the front of volume 1 and the back of volume 3. Minor worming inside volume one that doesn't detract from what is otherwise a clean bright copy of an interesting work. Priced accordingly. Very scarce in this lithographic form.
