Add to basketHardcover. Condition: new. Hardcover. This Special Issue, titled Application of Fermentation Technology in Animal Nutrition: 2nd Edition, belongs to the Industrial Fermentation Section of Fermentation-Basel. Curated by Guest Editors Drs. Siran Wang, Lin Sun, Lei Chen, and Jie Bai, it includes nine peer-reviewed original research studies, advancing the global understanding of fermentation's role in modern animal nutrition and husbandry. Fermentation technology is foundational to animal feed production, preserving feed, enhancing palatability, and optimizing under-utilized agro-industrial by-products. However, knowledge gaps exist in optimal fermentation conditions, metabolite utilization in animals, and impacts on gastrointestinal health, ruminal function, and productivity-this issue directly addresses these gaps with cutting-edge research covering silage production, fermented feed development, and biological effects on livestock and poultry. This Special Issue bridges practical application and fundamental science, driving innovation in fermentation technology and shaping efficient, eco-friendly, high-performance animal nutrition globally. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from our UK warehouse or from our Australian or US warehouses, depending on stock availability.

Buch. Condition: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Ensiling is a technique for the long-term preservation of feed; it is both effective and widespread, and is characterized by its low cost and ease of operation. At the initial stage of ensiling, water-soluble carbohydrates are broken down into carbon dioxide, water, and energy under the respiration of aerobic bacteria. As oxygen is depleted, lactic acid bacteria attached to forage multiply and convert WSC into organic acids, thereby creating an anaerobic and acidic environment, which, in turn, inhibits the activities of undesirable bacteria, such as clostridia, and reduces the risk of forage spoilage. Ensilage is a complex process involving the actions of microbes and biochemical variations. It is one of the most significant methods of preserving herbages. Animals that consume silage have been shown to enhance the bioavailability of animal protein and decrease methane emissions. A plethora of silage resources are available on Earth. However, the utilization rates remain low, resulting in significant resource wastage and substantial environmental degradation. Conversely, the accelerated growth in animal production has resulted in a persistent annual deficit of animal roughage. Consequently, there is a need to investigate the recent situations of silage preparation, processing, and efficient utilization. This reprint, entitled 'Silage Preparation, Processing and Efficient Utilization', comprises one editorial and eleven original research articles. Collectively, these contributions illustrate the promising future of silage application, with the objective of advancing the field of animal feed.

Buch. Condition: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - This Special Issue on 'Application of Fermentation Technology in Animal Nutrition' comprises 11 original research articles and 1 communication. Collectively, these contributions illustrate the promising future of fermentation technology in animal nutrition research, one that is committed to both tradition and innovation, with the objective of advancing the frontiers of fermentation science.Altogether, this Special Issue presents several original studies in the field of animal nutrition, including research on co-ensiling technology, silage additives, rumen fermentation, and related topics. These findings could help to improve feed resources, optimize silage quality and improve animal performance. As this Special Issue draws to a close, it is obvious that the field of silage research is not merely evolving, but undergoing a revolution. The challenges that lie ahead are considerable, but so are the opportunities. By addressing these challenges and pursuing the research directions outlined above, it is possible to ensure that fermentation technology will remain a critical aspect of animal nutrition, meeting the evolving needs of animal husbandry.
