There some chips to the title slips in volumes 1,3,4 & 6, all others intact. . This work is color-woodblock printed by hand on handmade Washi [mulberry-fiber] paper, on double folded leaves. Each volume is uniformly double string stitched in the old traditional Chinese method. The spine corners are with delicate pale-blue silk brocade cloth. . *** BLUE CLOTH SHU TAO: The set is contained in a traditional indigo-blue cloth Shu Tao [folding cloth case], with two bone pegs. . *** CONDITION: The bindings are in remarkably clean and solid condition. There is a bit of the usual minor edge wear. The labels are solid whit some old mended tears, now firm and solid. . There are two [red] cinnabar Yi Zhong chops/seals used on the bottom of the title slips: vols. 1 & 2 have one variant, vols. 3 & 4 a different seal. There is evidence of a small label removed from the upper top edge of the left side of each volume. This has left a small discolor, else internally not affected. . Internally each volume is very clean, there is NO worming or other detractions. A couple of double-folded leaves may have partial separation at the gutter, a few pages have some typical but minor foxing on the color prints, else quite a bright copy. . Condition Note: We tend to be overly critical & descriptive of the smallest flaws, which is perhaps our 'flaw!' Suffice to say we prefer to point out anything that may affect the buyer's decision.
