Pere Marquette Press Anyone who lived through the fifties and the sixties must remember the powerful fears, and even the irrational insanity, that could grip the imagination, not the least of which was the fear of devastation raining down from the sky in the form of international missiles, armed with nuclear warheads. Phyllis Schlafly, well-known spokeswoman of the far right and Chester Ward, Rear Admiral, U. S. Navy (Retired) put their heads together and wrote this book warning of the dire threat. It is not a plea against nuclear missiles but an argument for even stronger defense, arming America with an invincible armament of nuclear weaponry. In my mind, books like this, which pitted liberal against conservative, hawk against dove, went far towards dividing the country. This is an exceptional copy of "Strike from Space", for those who are collecting Cold War books and memorabilia.
