Paperback. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. [Supplement to the Sunday Edition of the New York Press]; B & W Half-tones and pictorial ads; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 43 pages; October 3, 1897. Single issue weekly magazine published as a supplement to the New York Press Sunday edition Newspaper. Octavo paperback in pictorial title lettered covers over a side stapled binding. Pictorial cover from art work by Charles Charpiot in a style informed by art nouveau and the work of Aubrey Beardsley. This issue contains an illustrated feature on unusual marriage customs written by the somewhat prolific turn of the century woman writer, Helen M. Winslow . Also included is a very early shot fiction piece by John T. McIntyre, who would write a number of mystery and crime novels in the early 20th century. Also featured are a number of short stories and poems and a pair of half-tone photo reproduction of art studio photography by Beatrice Tonnesson. Pictorial ad section of several pages at rear. This copy is sound and neat with light soiling to covers top edge of the front cover and to top corner tip of the first few leaves. Quite scarce; only the NY Public Library holds a few physical issues of this short lived magazine. VG to VG+.
