The book itself has pages beginning to brown due to aging, slight edge wear, otherwise in good condition with firm binding, nice black and white photographs and 109 pages. The author was born in 1881 and was a Finnish immigrant who came to Michigan's Upper Peninsula as a child with his mother to join his father who was living in Champion, MI. He was a Luthern minister, President of Suomi College, a public school administrator, etc. who wrote his memoir at age 85. Original publisher's blue paper covers with blue lettering and decoration. There is a previous owner name dated 1967 at the top corner of the title page, a notice of the dedication of Wargelin Hall in Hancock, MI pasted to the rear blank end paper, and single sheet loosely inserted in the book describing the history of Suomi College with a photo of John Wargelin and other grads of the 1906 class. The pages are clean, tight and unmarked. This is a clean, tight book with no interior or exterior markings. The covers are in nice condtion with no creases, tears or chips.
