Slight shelf wear to edge of D/J. Slight foxing to D/J. This handbook contains the substance of a series of lectures given, under the auspices of the University of Bristol and the Bristol Archaeological Research Group, in 1962. In the same year a Conference of Editors was held by the Council for British Archaeology. Duplicated editions of this handbook have been issued. The demand is so insistent, the material so useful, that a printed edition, with revisions and illustrations is here produced. The body of this book consists of five chapters: Preliminaries and Initial Stages by Leslie Grinsell. The Boddy of an Excavation Report: The Illustrations by Alan Warhusrt. The Body of an Excavation Report: The Text by Philip Rahtz. The Body of a Non-Excavational Report by Leslie Grinsell. The Final Stages by leslie Grinsell. To these chapters are added a Guide to Further Reading and two appendixes, one on Some Archaeological Reconstructions and the other on Some Publications Recommended for Study (or example). This book contains essential information, methodically arranged, useful to those needing to make reports on their work (and not only in archaeology). It deals among other matters, with publication grants, with opportunities and media for publication; the preparation and arrangement of text material, including the use of notes and references and of standard conventions; draughtsmanship and work on drawings, maps and plans, including line work and photography; processes of setting, printing and production, and the handling of proofs and indexes. Illustrations. 71 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions, Reference books ,and all types of Academic Literature.).
