Rare 32 pg privately printed/published work In tan heavy card covers with blurb pasted to inside cover which reads: The inspiration for the writing of this novel, I , Barabbas, An Autobiography, came to the author in the course of his work. In folding the Presbyterian Ju…nior Bible Lessons for April, May, June, 1953 he noted the first page with three slugs at the bottom of the first column. These were: all at once, 'Away with this man and release unto us Barabbas." So a man who had done many wrong things was released. Seeing this several hundred times the writer questioned himself. What brought Barabbas to this place? What were his thoughts and feelings? And, mainly, what did he do following his release? The limited story in the Biblical account is well-known to the author. While others would be content to read and miss this hidden thought, the writer starts his first novel to satisfy his own questions of this annually heard-of character. Limited by the brief Bible account, and unaided by writings of others, the author has tried to find satisfactory answers to his own questions and at the same time hope to make it of interest to others. Writing in the style of an autobiography has facilitated the author with better expression of the thoughts and recollections of the man than would be possible in others styles of writing. Only the main character can know what his thoughts and feelings are. Another person would have to surmise. The writer has not made a saint of the main character (though to some it would have been more desirable) nor has he taken the character to great lengths in his conquests of crime.
