Lyons (Rainsville, Alabama), 5 3/4 x 8 3/4 inches tall black cloth hardcover in publisher's unclipped dust jacket, gilt lettering to spine, illustrated with black-and-white photographs, [6], 154 pp. Slight soiling to fore page edges. Nicely signed by the author, Waylon Lyons (1935-2018), on the blank front free-endpaper. Otherwise, a near fine copy - clean, bright and unmarked. ~SP12~ [2.0P] Unknown to most people, there exists beyond our southern coast a world all its own: a world of oil rigs, drilling derricks, and the special breed of people who operate and service them - a world known to its people as 'the oil patch." In this world, there are no roads; just helicopters and boats. This is a small part of the story of that world as seen by a helicopter pilot in the off shore oil service industry between 1964 and 1981 in the Gulf of Mexico.
