Front cover detached, and faintly scratched with "Assessment Book / Town of Goshen / 1861 / J. W. Webbs," which is only visible when the light catches it. Names listed alphabetically, with columns for the number…of Acres, Real, Pers, Total, and (though nothing ever appears in it) Military. Hundreds of names are listed, amongst them: Bank of Orange County, Bradley, Carpenter, Denton, Edsall, Francisco, Green, Hemingway, Jones, Knapp, Ludlum, McCoy, Newman, Owen. An interesting item from the Civil War period, worthy of further study.
