Blue cloth covers with black lettering to front. Internally previous owner's signature to title page, has extensive pencil notes but is tightly bound. Wrapped in tissue, bubble wrap and inserted into jiffy bag. Posted daily from UK, first class within UK and airmail world-wide.

Slight rubbing to covers (leather; chiefly at extremities); else a near fine copy internally. xii, 628 pages. Spine title: English Dictionary; half-title: Dictionary of the English Language. Later issue of the 'New Edition' (title page verso); originally published in this format in 1954 (first published in 1911). Introductory material by editor Maine (signed 'G. F. M.'); includes 14 appendixes (abbreviations, foreign words and phrases, weights and measures, etc). Bound in full black morocco, spine and upper cover stamped gilt (upper cover with previous owner's names); plain endpapers, all edges gilt and trimmed.b/w Title vignettes; Title Pages (red/black).

Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. No date or publisher listed so guessing 1905ish. Small pocket leather dictionary with leather clasp. Front cover has been taped (to protect the edgewear from getting worse?), spine has a bit of wear at head of spine and edges, back hinges have been taped, names and addresses have been written on the front endpapers, front hinge is pulled away from book, binding is shaken but holding fairly well, pages are clean if a bit thumbed. Ask for photos.
