Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Oblong folio measuring 15.5" x 11.25". String-tied black cloth over stiff paper boards with gilt decorations. Contains 212 sepia-toned or black and white gelatin silver photographs measuring between .5" x .5" and 3" x 5" with captions. Additionally included are newspaper clippings, letters, invitations, programs, and other ephemera. All items about near fine. An extensive scrapbook compiled by Ella Weihing while attending North Central College, previously Northwestern College, between 1925 and 1929. It begins with pages of autographs and information for friends met during school. Following this most of the album is packed with scrap from her days at college including invitations, programs for events, broadsides, cards, and more. She belonged to numerous groups and clubs including the Debate Team, Y.W.C.A., and the Pi Kappa Delta sorority. Newspaper clippings detail events and happenings at the college featuring headline announcing new members, a fire on campus, and sports news. The final pages include photographs of Weihing's college days featuring her posing with friends, performing in May Day ceremonies, and on vacations. She graduated with honors in 1929 and went on to study languages receiving a PhD from the University of Minnesota around 1940. A large collection on ephemera detailing a woman's college years at an Illinois institution.
