Bildausschnitt ca. 10 x 15,5 cm. Abgezogen von der Original-Kupferplatte der Ausgabe 1680.- Anfangs gehörte die Burg den Kuenringern. Dann war die Burg ein Lehen der Herren von Walsee. Wohl an der Stelle eines ehemaligen Wachturmes an einer Straßenkreuzung wurde nach der Zerstörung der Burg Harmannstein um 1300 der Bau der Burg begonnen. 1619 wird die Burg durch kaiserlichen Truppen erstürmt und geplündert. Als Besitzer folgen 1630 Lazarus Parfuß, 1656 Georg Adam und Hans Ernst von Mühlwang und 1681 Graf Adam von Grundemann. Ab 1806 ist Josef von Koller, danach bis 1916 Freiherr von Geusau als Besitzer zu verzeichnen.
