Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. I just finished listing another book that was previously owned by the renowned actor Theodore Bikel-- who was quite involved in the civil rights movement. This book bears his small bookplate on the front inside cover. The book is in very decent condition. You can see the black covers in the photos. They are clean. The gilt lettering on the spine is very bright. There is one tiny tear at the top edge of the spine. The six edges are in very good shape. The four corners look very good. The book is square. The spine is straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The interior of the book appears to be in excellent shape. I am scrolling through the pages without finding any instances of soiling. I'm not finding any creasing. There are no markings. No attachments other than Mr. Bikel's bookplate. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. There is some amber foxing just off the three edges of both the front and rear blank end paper. There isn't any boxing on either of the inside covers. And there isn't any foxing on the three blank rear end paper that precede the last one. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. It's in decent shape, but I've rated it only Good because there are a few very small tears, one on the spine and two just adjacent to the spine on the front cover, also a little scuff on the front bottom edge. The rear cover has some old handling soiling, and the flaps have some toning/foxing at their margins. The flaps are otherwise in solid shape. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. It will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. From the dust jacket: 'This is the story-- dispassionately told, accurate, and fair-- of desegregation as it has proceeded in the South in the turbulent period since the US Supreme Court's decision of 1954. The distinguished writers who tell the story have had a single aim: to measure with facts and objective analysis the degree of compliance or noncompliance with the Court's constitutional decree. As a factual record of both emotionalism and rationalism, of extremism and moderation, of conflicting reactions to a major social change, With All Deliberate Speed will be of fundamental importance to all who are concerned with the future of America's schools.'.
