// Private half-cloth binding with the original paperback cover glued to the front. The strip of paper connecting the North-West Yemen folding map to the book is torn 3 cm at the top, without the tear extending into the map. Otherwise it is a good book with only slight signs of wear. Copy with very few pencil marks. With a few small entries in pencil and blue ink in the North-West Yemen folding map. Book from a non smoking environment. Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) collected a lot of epigraphic, linguistic and geographical material on four trips to Yemen, only parts of which were published. Among other things, a sketch map of North Yemen that was described as provisional became known through printing, of which Werdecker provided a new construction, which is characterized by more precise definition of the individual points and richer content (the second folding map is the same map in Arabic). This is the first separate publication (offprint) of an extremely important article (Smith, The Yemens) on the geography of northwest Yemen, based on the unpublished diaries of Glasers, the first European to explore this region. In addition to the history of the exploration, it contains a biography of Glaser, a description of his expeditions and maps. Dieses Exemplar stammt aus der Bibliothek von Walter W. Müller, Professor für Semitistik an der Philipps-Universität Marburg. Sprache: Englisch Privater Halbleineneinband mit aufgeklebtem Originalbroschureinband vorne.
