    Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Third printing of the first edition, in clean bright dust jacket, SIGNED by J. Edgar Hoover, with an additional signed letter from J. Edgar Hoover on FBI letterhead attached to front fixed endpaper. Clean black paper-covered boards with gray cloth spine, black title box, gold lettering on spine. No fraying or wear-through. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound. Browning to edges of endpapers. Inscribed and signed by Hoover on front free endpaper to then Chairman of the Board of Bausch & Lomb Optical Company as follows: "Carl S. Hallauer, With warm personal regards and grateful appreciation - J. Edgar Hoover - Jan. 22, 1957." Additional letter is thanking Carl for a telegram extending congratulations on Hoover's 35th anniversary as Director of the FBI, and is signed "Edgar" in blue ink. Rose red top-stained upper page edges. 368 pages + "About the Author." Clean bright dust jacket is price clipped at upper corner of front inside flap, tiny bit of wear at upper edge, no chips or tears; enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. Signed by Author(s).
