He was born in Germany though he immigrated to the United States and he spent his career painting in the western United States and Canada. Greatly admired by Frederic Remington. This book was produced in conjunction with an Exhibition of Rungius' art at the Glenbow Museum in Calgary, Alberta. 184 pages, 8 unnumbered pages of plates : illustrations (some color) ; 28 x 30 cm. Bound in black cloth with gilt title to the spine.The book is a nice Fine with a bright, fresh interior, a tight square spine, no wear to the cloth. Unmarked except for a faint name [?] in ink to the top margin of the ffep. The unclipped dustjacket is similar except for a top edge 2cm closed tear. Unfaded spine.
