Signed twice by Wickham, once in "Easthampton" submitting the invoice, and on the verso acknowledging payment. Wickham attended the Congress for 127 days between May, 1775 and February 1776. Wickham was a member of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Provincial Congress, and after the Revolution was a member of the New York Assembly. In 1776 he was appointed to a committee to confer with General Washington as to the removal or protection of the stock on Nassau and Staten Islands. He was in charge of Gardeners Island before the Battle of Long Island, after which he retreated first to Connecticut, and then took up the fight again at sea, where he attempted to surprise the enemy at Sag Harbor. Captain Wickham later commanded a sloop that took the British schooner Peggy.
