See photos.** PS2025.0115** 438 pages. 10.25 x 13 inches** A very good copy of this two volume biography and catalogue devoted to the French painter Jacques Aved (1702-1766). Cream wraps are gently age toned, and the slipcase shows wear, but the text block, on Arches paper, is white and unmarked. A handsome edition with generous fonts and many ornaments. Many of the plates in the catalogue (Vol. 2) are tipped in; others are printed full-page.** Aved, a foremost connoisseur of his day in Paris, spent his youth in Amsterdam, and the influence of the Dutch masters is evident in his work as a portraitist. The biography and catalogue are the work of Georges Wildenstein (1892-1963), a Parisian gallery owner and editor of the Gazette des Beaux-Arts.** A limited edition of 500 copies, printed on Arches paper, all numbered. This is copy #242.** "Postage for oversized and international shipping will be calculated by size and weight. AbeBooks shipping quotes are ESTIMATES only. Seller Inventory #010139"**.
